HOMEWORK 23.11.20 - Due Monday 30th November

A To-Do has been set for you on Purple Mash involving converting measurments. We were working on these last week in school and you were all superb!

Top Tips:

-> You can write down how many mm in 1cm and how many cm in 1m to help you. Have this by your side to remind you.

-> Double check the units the game is asking you to answer in!

HOMEWORK 16.11.20 - Due Monday 23rd November

An assignment has been set for you on Ed Shed involving Homophone spellings. We were only discussing these last week so we should be great at them. Enjoy Year 4!

HOMEWORK 09.11.20 - Due Monday 16th November

In school, we have been practising the column method for Addition and Subtraction. There is a To-Do set for you on Purple Mash involving adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers. You may find it handy to have a pencil and paper next to you for working out any questions that require you to regroup! Good luck Year 4 - I know you will all be great!

HOMEWORK 19.10.20 - Due Monday 2nd November

This week's homework will be a project to be continued throughout half term. We have just started our new text in literacy which is about a little girl called Hannah who loves gorillas. Last week, we found out interesting facts about gorillas and recorded these as a fact file.

We would like you to research an animal of your choice and record your findings. This may be your favourite animal or a creature that you wish to find out more about. You can choose how you wish to present your findings. This may be as a presentation, a poster, another fact-file or a vlog (video). We will make time after half term to present these to each other in class.

Alongside your research, we would like for you to create a piece of art work for your chosen animal. This again can be created however you wish. You might choose to do a drawing or painting, a collage or a sculpture.

Once completed, send either Miss Hart or Mrs Burgoyne an email including a photo of your art work and an attachment/photo of your research. We will present these virtually using our SMART board in school so as to refrain from bringing things into school.

Enjoy your project Year 4! We cannot wait to see them on your return to school.

Remeber, you can still access Times Table Rockstars from home and make sure you're reading as much as possible over half term.

HOMEWORK 12.10.20 - Due Monday 19th October

A To-Do has been set for you on Purple Mash involving expanded noun phrases. We were fantastic at this last week in class so let's see if you can remember! You could even try creating a few expanded noun phrases of your own. Share these with your family and try to generate some together.

As always, if you need anything please do not hesitate to contact Miss Hart or Mrs Burgoyne.

HOMEWORK 05.10.20 - Due Monday 12th October

A To-Do has been set for you on Purple Mash involving comparing and ordering numbers up to 1000. We were great at this in class so let's see if you can remember at home!

Just a reminder that you can change your home reading books twice a week, on a Monday and a Thursday. Please continue reading at home with your parents, carers and siblings and change your book as often as you need to on those designated days.

As always, if you need anything please do not hesitate to contact Miss Hart or Mrs Burgoyne.

TIMES TABLES

It is important children regularly use Times Table Rockstars at home to help learn their times tables. Children are expected to know all their times tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year Four.

READING

There are a wide variety of books available in the classroom of all genres and levels of challenge. During the week there are lots of opportunities to read but it is also expected that they spend time throughout the week at home reading independently or with a parent/carer/sibling.
