Year 6 2017 - 2018

Miss Williamson

Welcome to Year Six!

Welcome back to the new school year! We are all looking forward to the year ahead with lots of exciting activities and trips planned throughout. The children are already settling into their new routines and roles well and have made a fantastic effort to welcome their new Reception buddies into our school community. Keep checking our class page for letters, homework and pictures of all of the fun activities we will be doing!

PE

For the first half term, our class will have PE sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, in which children will participate in netball, fitness and dance. They will need kits in school all week and should have a suitable pair of trainers, white socks, a white t-shirt, dark coloured jogging bottoms for outdoor PE and a pair of school shorts for hall sessions. Please make sure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled to avoid any confusion when getting changed.

Y6 BIKEABILITY REMINDER

Bikeability training will take place in the first week back after half term from the 26th February to the 1st March (it may be shorter than the 4 days if the instructors feel the children are able to progress faster). The children need to park their bikes on Monday morning at the bike store near the front entrance of the school and they will need their helmet and a change of clothes to go out in – not PE kit. All bikes can stay in school over the week and will be chained up at night.

Many thanks,

Miss Williamson

Year 6 Lenten Fundraiser

During Lent, year six will be leading the Easter egg raffle as our Lenten fundraiser. For this we ask for a donation of an Easter egg that can be raffled off on the last day of term. Please bring any eggs into school by Monday 26th March.

Many thanks for your support.

Miss Williamson

UNIFORM

As we near the end of the Spring term, you will likely be getting ready for summer uniform. Near the end of the summer term, a photographer will be in to take the Year 6 photographs and for this we like the children to be in their winter uniform. Please ensure you keep hold of these items until the photographs have taken place!
