Our week December 4th!

Date: 3rd Dec 2017 @ 2:08pm

As we enter the last few weeks of term I have been delighted with the energy and perseverance the children are showing towards their work. This has come through specifically in Literacy where the children have written a non-chronological report, a diary entry and a setting description all this week. Our learning continues to be around the story 'Snow Dragon' by Vivien French, which the children are really enjoying.

Now Advent is fully under way our RE work is taking sharper focus on the Advent and Christmas season. In class we designed our own Christmas cards based around the real meaning of Christmas. The children then shared and explained their designs with each other. On Thursday afternoon we were very lucky to have a visit from Father Paul who conducted an Advent Reconciliation service with us. It was lovely for the children to have half an hour pause during a busy time of year, so they could focus on their preparation for Christmas. Well done also to the children who represented the school singing the Christmas Story at St. Helen's Church on Wednesday morning. I was very proud to have so many of the class taking part.

This coming week we will aim to conclude our work on the Snow Dragon text, as well as reaching the end of the Iron Age period with the arrival of the Romans!

This week's homework----Conjunction challenge. To be completed in red books and handed in by Monday 18th December.
