Our week--November 21st!

Date: 26th Nov 2016 @ 12:01pm

Another busy week in Year 3! The children really enjoyed our Open Day on Thursday, and were both superbly behaved and hard-working during the afternoon when visitors were in. Well done to them all!

In Literacy we began our new topic of Folktales. The children have started to investigate what features are in a folktale, and to discover the oral tradition that accompanies them. If you're reading at home this week, why not pick a folktale (fairytale, fable etc) to read as this will support your child in class.

We also did some work on 'Road Safety Week'. The children discussed how sometimes it can be easy to be distracted so they need to concentrate when crossing roads. We designed posters to remind ourselves how to be safe on the roads and pavements, then displayed them in our cloakroom. Extra focus was given to features of winter such as ice/dark nights which we need to be aware of too.

Next week: Homework.

Spelling pattern to research at home---Words where the 'i' sound is made by a 'y'=Symbol, Egypt, myth, gym, crystal. Can you locate and practise any more at home?

Times Tables---x6

Homework: Spelling challenge!
