Our week---June 5th

Date: 9th Jun 2017 @ 4:23pm

A shame about the awful weather at the start of the week, but the sun finally came out for the arrival of our Italian visitors! On Friday morning they joined us in class and we were able to interview several children (and staff) to find out about their lives and culture in Vittorio Veneto. We will be using our findings this coming week to compare and contrast lifestyles between England and Italy.

As we continue our work in class investigating the region of Veneto we are also going to start finding out about one of its most famous son and his exciting life. Lastly we will be starting our DT project which will involve researching, taste testing and constructing an Italian snack, so keep your eyes open for a letter coming home about this.

Next week we are swimming on Monday, and on Tuesday morning we have the photographer in school to take pictures of the First Holy Communion children. From experience it is easiest if the children arrive in school in their uniform, change into their communion outfits for the photos, then change back afterwards. It is no problem (espeically for the girls) if parents wish to help their children change and then take their outfits after they have had photos done and changed back. It is also fine to leave dresses/suits here in carriers and I will make sure they are brought out at the end of the day. Any queries, just ask.

Next week: Homework---Spelling=Year 3 Spelling List--accident, complete, exercise, fruit, height, length, opposite, peculiar, regular, special. Can you practice at home?

Times tables= x2, x4, x8 examining the link between them.

Homework: Shadow hunt!
