Our week---January 9th!

Date: 14th Jan 2017 @ 10:47am

It has been fantastic to see the positive attitude that the children have returned to school with this week! Well done!

In class our highlight was the first part of our Pop-Up Museum activities. We were visited by Mel Williamson who is a museum curator. She gave the class an outline of her role as a curator before allowing them to look at some objects she has brought in. The children had to try and work out what the objects could be, before writing a short story telling the object's history. We then shared these as a class. Next week we will be repeating the process with our own items from home and then setting them up in the hall for parents to view!

Throughout this term lots of our learning will be based around Egypt. This week we have begun writing a non-chronological report about Egypt, learning an Egyptian dance, as well as writing our names in hieroglyphics. It has been brilliant to see the children's enthusiasm for the topic, and to be able to share all the Egyptian books and objects they have brought in to share already!

Next week: Homework.
