Our week---January 30th!

Date: 4th Feb 2017 @ 10:37am

Well done to the whole class for their behaviour and attitude on Monday. Despite being stuck in traffic onthe M56 we still managed to have a fantastic day at the Manchester Museum. In the morning we looked around the Living Worlds gallery and the children had the task of designing their own Egyptian god based around one of the animals in the exhibit. After an early lunch we visited the rocks and minerals gallery before having our guided workshop in the Ancient Worlds gallery.

We were first introduced to Asru (an Egyptian mummy) and we then had to work in groups to find items in the museum Asru might need in the afterlife. We photographed these on and Ipad and presented our work as a picture collage. We then got to go behind the scenes and handle some artefacts not on display. The children had to use their knowledge and imagination to work out what they could be, and then select and present their findings to the class.

Building on the this the children have all written fanstatic recounts of our day which will be used for a display in class. The children all also in the process of planning and creating Powerpoint presentations of our day at the Museum!

Next week: Homework.
