Our week----January 29th!

Date: 3rd Feb 2018 @ 11:34am

We had a fantastic start to our week with our visit to the World Museum in Liverpool. The children enjoyed their time in the galleries and also the 2 workshops we had either side of lunch. The only shame was that we couldn't stay for longer!

On Friday we had our whole school Maths Day. After break we went into the hall with Year 4 where there were a whole selection of challenges and puzzles laid out. In pairs or 3s, the children had to try and solve as many as possible in the hour we had. These ranged from building 3D models or using symmetry to the more recognisable number facts problems. Back in class after lunch the children were presented with a set of 2D shapes to be cut out and they then had to figure out how to arrange them to form an animal! We also took on a range of code breaking challenges involving number sequences.

Photos from Museum and Maths Day to follow shortly!

This week on Tuesday we have our Safer Internet Day. This will involve both an assembly and some work in class considering how to be responsible online. The following day we will be departing for Winmarleigh. The children need to be in school at normal time. They will drop their bags in the hall then come into class and be registered before we check everything is ready and depart. We aim to be back for regular pick up time on Friday. Any questions regarding the trip before we go please just ask!

Mr Armstrong

With the residential visit I have decide there will be no homework or spellings/timestables this week, so hopefully this will free up time to make sure the children can definitely do a bit of reading each evening.
