Glaramara 2020

Activities

We hope you are looking forward to our trip next week!

Monday

We had a great journey and arrived safely at Glaramara. A busy afternoon including Ghyll scrambling, coracle building, archery and climbing.   Children were fab at tackling some challenges especially when cold in the water.  They were all ready for their meal tonight and had lots of empty plates! Weather turned miserable tonight so we had a great time with our beetle drive! Some great looking beetles! Hot chocolate before bed and children settled to bed quickly, ready for another busy day tomorrow!

Tuesday

A fantastic first full day at the centre today! It has been jam packed with abseiling, climbing, ghyll scrambling and problem solving and the children have been brilliant at trying new things! After hot chocolate and birthday cake for the birthday girl, they were all soon settled into bed ready for more adventures in the morning! We are all looking forward to another great day ahead tomorrow!

Wednesday

The weather is looking a lot brighter today and three groups have already headed off on beautiful walks this morning, ready to explore the wonderful Cumbrian landscapes. The other two groups are busy climbing, abseiling, coracle building, ghyll scrambling and having a go at archery!

Thursday

It is a beautiful sunny morning here at Glaramara! Two groups have set off for the day on their walks, another two groups are trying abseiling this morning and the last group is busy building a boat to try and float on the river before having a go at archery! A wonderful start to our final full day at the centre!

The children are all settled in and having lots of fun trying new things and facing new challenges. Have a look at some of the brilliant activities they have been up to already!

TEAM CHALLENGES

Working in their teams, the children have been super problem solvers, learning to work together to solve all kinds of puzzles. They all had great fun!

CORACLE BUILDING

The children all had a brilliant time getting creative and building a boat. They worked fantastically as a team to select the right materials and to try and make sure that it would float!

GHYLL SCRAMBLING

"It was the best activity yet!" There were lots of excited children in the ghyll enjoying the challenge of making their way up. Despite it being a little chilly in the water, they were all enthusiastic and were giggling away!

HIKING

Three groups had a busy day in the mountains today, exploring the beautiful scenery. They had a great time!
