Spring Half Term 2018

Date: 25th Feb 2018 @ 9:42am

I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable half term break!

A reminder that on Monday we start our swimming programme. Children must have their swimming kits in with them tomorrow morning. Unlike PE kits these simply need to come in on a Monday and can then go home that night to be washed for the following week.

On Tuesday and Wednesday is parents evening. If you absolutely can not make a slot please let me know and I can endeavour to meet with you after school later in the term on an evening that is more suitable.

Thursday will be World Book Day. Children can come dressed up as their favourite character from the world of books, and in class we will be doing various fun activities linked to reading, books and authors.

Throughout the week we will also commence our work on the celebration of the Eucharist, specifically focused on preparing the children for their 1st Holy Communion. We will hopefully also be lucky enough to have Sister Phyllis joining us for some of our RE sessions throughout the half term. Lastly, linked to this, on Saturday lots of the children will be celebrating their 1st Forgiveness at St Bedes Church (10am). We have discussed what is involved with the service in class and I know the children have been giving good thought to their preparation.

This week's homework----Spelling=Prefixes 'auto' and 'super', automatic, autograph, superstar, supermarket. Can children find more examples at home? Times tables=x9. No work in red books this week.
