Pupil Voice

Within schools, pupil involvement in decision making is often referred to as ‘pupil voice’. Pupil voice is about pupils having the opportunity to have a say in the school decisions that affect them. It entails pupils to play an active role in their education and schooling, and as a result schools becoming more attentive and responsive to pupils’ views (Hargreaves 2004).

At St. Bede's groups of pupils regularly meet with members of staff to discuss issues, policies, practice and topics specific to them. Action plans are written and together pupils and staff pave the way of change, striving to Achieve Excellence Together.
