Mrs Jones

Mrs Reed

Mrs Hamnett

Welcome to Year Six!

Welcome back to the new school year! We are all looking forward to the year ahead with lots of exciting activities and trips planned throughout as well as all of the new jobs that the children will be taking on - I know they are all very excited about them! Keep checking our class page for letters, homework and pictures of all of the fun activities we will be doing!

Mrs Jones will be teaching on a Monday and Tuesday, with Mrs Reed for the rest of the week, supported by Mrs Hamnett.

Diaries and homework

Diaries are a vital tool in class and act as a good communication book between home and school. At the front of the diary, there is a home school agreement, which needs to be signed by the teacher, parent/carer and child. Please read and sign as soon as possible.

Children will record their homework in their diaries each week but it can also be found on the homework tab on our class page. Homework is given out on a Monday and due in the following Monday. After Christmas, in year six, homework is given on different days and is designed to prepare the children for high school where the volume of homework increases. If homework is not handed in on time, a note will be written in their diary. Please sign this to show you have seen it and ensure your child brings in their work the following day.

Please ensure your child is dressed smartly and appropriately. The parents uniform shop, which is located under the parents tab on the website, will provide you with more information about the standard of uniform we expect in our school.

PE Kits

PE days will vary throughout the year due to different sporting provision and so kits need to be in school Monday through to Friday and taken home at weekends.

In their kits, they will need

- a white top (with school logo or plain),

- green school shorts for indoor sessions,

- a dark jumper and dark joggers for winter,

- a spare pair of white socks,

- suitable sport trainers.

Please ensure all items in their kit are labelled.

The end of the school day

If your child is going home with someone other than a parent/carer please make sure this information is passed  on to a member of staff on the door in the morning or put in your child's diary.

In year six, some parents make the decision to allow their child to walk home from school to prepare them for the transtition to high school. If you wish for your child to walk home, please provide school with a signed and dated note to allow this to happen.
