Year 4 2017 - 2018

Mrs Fearnley

Welcome to Year 4 laugh

Welcome back to the Spring term! We hope you all had a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

We have an exciting term ahead with Winmarleigh to look forward to in a couple of weeks and lots of engaging activities planned to support our new topic. This term our topic question is, 'Is it a Wonderful World?'. We will be exploring this question across the curriculum.

Swimming will be continuing on a Monday until February and we will also have a PE session on Tuesday.

Mrs Fearnley (teacher) and Mrs Trigg (teaching assistant)

Useful information

  • swimming is on Monday afternoon, please ensure all kits are in on that day
  • PE kits need to be brought in on Monday and left in school until Friday
  • all the children's belongings must have their names on them - this makes it easier for misplaced items to make it back to their owners
  • the children all have a new reading and homework journal - please let us know how your child is getting on with their reading. You can also use this to send notes into school if necessary
  • homework will be set on a Monday and will be due the following Monday - one week will be a written piece in their books and the following week they will have a spelling or times tables home work to complete

In Computing we have been looking at Stop Motion animations. Look to the bottom of the page for a little taster.

This week the children need to practise their 6 times tables. Each child should have brought home a sheet with ideas for how to learn multiplication and division facts. If confident with the 6 times tables, please look at the 9s - do you notice any patterns? Please check MY Maths for further activities.
