Reception 2019 - 2020

Mrs Langton

Welcome to Reception

Welcome back after the Half term holiday. We are looking forward to yet another very busy half term. I can't quite believe that we are now getting ready to move up to Year 1!

Please continue to check our class page for letters and pictures of all the fun activities that we are doing. Also don’t forget you will be able to access your child’s up to date Learning Journey via the Tapestry website. Please note that you can add your own comments and photos of what your child is doing at home onto Tapestry.

For information about what we will be learning about, please click on the curriculum letter below.

Please ensure that you check your child’s book bag daily for important information.

Homework information can be found on the homework tab. This is updated weekly.

Please ensure your child is dressed smartly and appropriately. The parents uniform shop, which is located under the parents tab on the website, will provide you with more information about the standard of uniform we expect in our school.

PE kits will be sent home at the end of the term (if they get very dirty we will send them home before!) We will be having PE on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons, but there may be extra sessions and so it is easier to keep the kit in school to allow flexibility. To avoid us sending home someone else’s belongings, please can you ensure that you label all of your child’s school clothing. As I am sure you can appreciate, it is very difficult to match up the correct clothing to the child when they all look the same!

Reading Journal

Children should now be reading daily at home. Please use the reading journal to record what your child has read and any comments you wish to make. Books will be changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

End of day collection

If your child is going home with someone other than a parent/carer please make sure a note is passed over on the door or is put in the child's reading journal.

We appreciate our good home / school partnership with you. Your support at home really does make a huge difference. Don’t forget that we are here for you as well as your son or daughter. Please do not hesitate to make contact no matter how small you may think the issue may be.
